Options: We have a range of bright and earthy patterns in a paracord rope made specifically for use in dog leads. We’ve picked our favourite colourways as well as solid colour options to pair with black or silver lead clips.. We’ve used both a Ø 10mm and Ø 12 mm rope to make 1 m and 1.4 m leads. We also have 2 m double ended training leads in the thinner width.
Design: To keep the ‘dog end’ of the lead simple we’ve covered the end in a tough plastic rope cover, which both hides and protects the ends. For the other end we’ve chosen a larger knot than standard, it feels lovely to grab on to and hold. Whether you prefer holding the handle normally, or walking with the handle over your wrist & holding the knot itself, these leads are comfortable and easy to use. We’ve stuck with silver or black clips for these leads, which complement the black whipping finishing and our silver branded tags
Materials: We’ve chosen lobster style lead clips as these do not have a ‘hook’ shape; it may be easier to use for those with less mobility, or for a quick release in dog sports. Our single colour rope has polypropylene core strands, with a 32 strand outer sheath made from nylon. This gives a slightly smoother/silky feel, and whilst it is rot resistant, some small shrinkage may occur with complete soaking.
Making: We’ve pre-loaded the knots, so as well as looking decorative they are secure and won’t budge. We’ve sewn the rope ends (on both the dog and human end) to make sure everything is super secure underneath the decorative elements.
Bonus: On the Ø 10 mm leads the lobster clips can close over the rope itself, meaning you can clip the lead back on itself to wear over your shoulder when not in use - making you hands free for playing with your dog(s)

Note: this rope looks and feels like a static climbing rope, but it is not! Do not use for other purposes.
Wash with mild detergent by hand (max temp 30°C), and leave to air dry. Fully saturating the lead may give a small amount of shrinkage.
Leaving sand/mud in the rope can dull the lead and wear the surface prematurely.
